False. Just because coverage is negative isn't evidence of a conspiracy against someone. Saying the media is against him is a tactic Trump uses to avoid accountability.
1. There is no global conspiracy against Trump
Believing the media is biased against Trump requires imagining thousands of independent outlets, courts, universities, scientists, and historians across the world all lying in perfect coordination for some undefined reason.
That’s the definition of a conspiracy theory.
These institutions compete, fact-check, and correct each other constantly. Truth is rewarded. Deception destroys credibility.
2. Trump has the motivation to lie
Trump has personal and political incentives to discredit inconvenient facts. He labels negative coverage “fake news” — never explaining why. See the myth That’s Fake News.
He told 30,573 unique lies in his first term. See the myth Trump Tells the Truth for detailed evidence. Claiming the media is “against him” is just another one.
The free press exists to hold politicians accountable. Calling the media the “enemy of the people” trains supporters to ignore facts, distrust credible sources, and only trust Trump.
